It makes sense that Earth Day should fall in the springtime, at least in the Northern Hemisphere. But of all the days in Spring, why was Lenin’s birthday chosen as Earth Day?
Was it a way socialists (Reds) could celebrate the birth of their great leader under the guise of environmentalism (Green). Earth Day as a product of a Red-Green coalition should be studied and publicized. There are smoking guns there.
I have always thought that environmentalism is largely a cover for socialism. Watermelons: green on the outside, red inside. Given the state of politics in the United States and the triumph of socialism, as Newsweek informs us, why doesn’t Obama just drop the pretense and replace Earth Day with Lenin’s birthday. That may have been necessary in 1970, but it isn’t anymore.
At least Earth Day gives the free thinkers and contrarians among us an excuse to pollute the environment more than we usually do.
