Thank you Senator Kyl for having the courage to show the film.  Let’s hope that many attend to learn about the threat Islam poses to freedom of thought and speech among other freedoms the West should hold dear.

What is worrisome is the divergent reactions to Wilders film in the U.S. and UK.  Twenty years ago, even ten, the reaction would have been the same–to welcome Wilders as a proponent of free thought and speech in the Enlightenment tradition.

It is worrisome that so few Senators and Congressmen are supporting Sen. Kyl.  In fact, all Senators and Congressmen should support him against our enemies.

What is of far greater concern is the British reaction:  to ban Wilders.  It is clear that the Britain and the United States are being pulled in the same direction by the Left:  implicit and explicit support for radical Islam occurs in both countries, but Britain is far worse than the U.S.

The fact that radical Islamists have real political power in the UK spells trouble for the future of the relationship.  The U.S. is going to be increasingly hard pressed to maintain its alliance with a country that has large and growing number of Islamist radicals in it.  It will mark the end of the close military, intelligence, diplomatic, and cultural relationship the countries have enjoyed.

The British have got to wake up:  there are geopolitical consequences to your fetishizing Islam and your importation of Muslims, especially since New Labour came to power with the idea of augmenting their traditional constituency with imported voters.  Is domestic political success worth sacrificing the UK’s alliance with the U.S.   Labour says yes.  Do the rest of the British agree?

This is happening in the Netherlands.  Pim Fortuyn assassinated.  Theo van Gogh murdered.  Ayaan Hirsi Ali flees for her life.  This in a country once famous for freedom of speech and support for critical thought, no matter where it led or who was insulted.

That was before the Left won.  Before they started their oppressive policies designed to kill Western Civilization.

For the Left’s elite, any criticism of their multicultural project will not be tolerated.  So Wilders must be punished and expelled from the public sphere.  The effort was already underway, but had been feckless thus far.  Now the Left has escalated.

This is appalling.  This cannot stand.  Now is the time to wake up to creeping shari’a.  Now is the time to support our liberties.  Now is the time to resist those who would take them from us.  Now is the time to support Geert Wilders.

A hallmark of Western Civilization is equal justice under law.  A person may have come from Saudi Arabia but he will be tried under British law, as would his fellow citizens or residents.  This cornerstone is being eroded before our eyes.  The presence and growing acceptance of Shari’a by British officials, courts, and population destroys equal justice under law.

Since the UK recognizes Shari’a, then the next step is clear.  Why should only Muslims get to be selective concerning which laws apply.

In our Brave New Multicultural World, all of us can pick and choose our laws and our courts.  Thus, why cannot a white British subject claim to recognize only the law of Anglo-Saxon King Alfred the Great.  British media and public have to demand accountability.  They have to reverse creeping Shari’a and act to save Britain while there is time.

The Right Reverend Dr. Michael Nazir-Ali has an excellent story in today’s Telegraph.  Dr. Nazir-Ali is one of the foremost opponents of creeping Shari’a.  This is an issue all who love freedom and liberty must monitor and offer their support to Dr. Nazir-Ali and his allies.  Creeping Shari’a is a good indicator of the health of the West.  Let’s just say that no insurerer (not even AIG) would sell the West a life insurance policy.
